 Policies and General Rules

General:
  • Please review the RDA core values.

  • Respect for each other is EXPECTED.

  • We are always available to speak with parents or students.

  • The RDA is not responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced items. It is recommended that the student write their name on every item, especially shoes and bags.

  • The reception and waiting area is available to parents while students are attending class and to students waiting for their class to begin. All young children must be supervised by a responsible adult. The RDA is not responsible for any injuries, or for children left at the academy unsupervised, before or after class.

Come Prepared:
Student are expected to come to class properly dressed and prepared to participate. Students not wearing the proper attire for more than two weeks will not participate in class.

If applicable, please take your child to the restroom BEFORE class to avoid accidents and disruption of the class.

Attendance:
Students are expected to be present and on time for all classes. Students are expected to conduct an appropriate warm-up needed to avoid injury. Please notify the school if a student expects to be absent.

Perfect attendance will get rewarded. It is an achievement for those who happen to get through the whole year and we will not compromise the integrity of that honor. We do not make exceptions.

Academy Etiquette:

  • Respect for everyone is expected. Profanity, negative attitudes, and gossiping are not accepted in the academy.

  • Respect the academy; everyone should pitch and clean up after themselves.

  • Do not open the dance room door while classes are in session, please.

  • Stay respectful for the classes in session.

  • There is absolutely no running, shouting, or eating in the academy; water bottles are permitted.

  • Dancers may not enter a classroom without an instructor present.

Class Observation:
Dancers require complete attention and a place to feel safe. Parents, siblings and observers are not permitted in the classrooms without instructor’s permission. We will have observation windows to track your child’s progress periodically. Dance class is not only a place to learn technique-the students are also learning about who they are and how to relate to one another.

Pick-up & Drop-off:
Please drop-off and pick-up your child within 15 minutes of class time, as we are very busy and cannot provide your child with the attention they deserve to be safe. Late (more than 15 min.) pick-ups will be charged a fee.

Do not park at the curb for pick-up; it jeopardizes the safety of our students and other drivers. Please have your child wait inside until someone comes in to pick them up. We cannot supervise them if they are waiting outside the academy.

Academy Closings:
In case of INCLEMENT WEATHER, we will follow Forsyth County’s decision on school closings. There is NO refund when the academy must close. Please check the voicemail to confirm closings.

RESERVED RIGHT:
We always reserve the right to drop from our register any student for any reason including: excessive lateness or absence; disruptive behavior; non-payment of tuition or other charges.

Late Fees:
There will be a 5% late fee charged on all accounts in arrears ten days or more.

Returned Check Fee:
A $25 fee is assessed for all returned checks.
